Florin Ivan’s background is not separate from his work as an attorney. It informs the judgment, discipline, and perspective he brings to clients facing difficult legal problems.

Mr. Ivan came to the United States from Romania as a child. He remains connected to the Romanian language and the traditions that shaped his early life. For him, fluency in Romanian is more than a skill. It is a way of preserving family traditions, maintaining cultural ties to the Romanian community in Arizona, and honoring identity while integrating into American life and building a professional career in the United States.

Mr. Ivan also lives with a medical condition and uses a wheelchair. He does not present that part of his life as a limitation, nor does he separate it from the discipline required to practice law well. It has shaped the way he understands obstacles, systems, preparation, persistence, and the importance of making complicated paths more navigable for others.

That perspective can be especially important when clients are carrying more than the legal problem itself. Sometimes a client, a child, or another family member has special needs. Sometimes caregiving responsibilities, health concerns, financial pressure, family conflict, or uncertainty about the future make every decision feel heavier. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Ivan earned a bachelor’s degree in computing and began his professional career as a software engineer at a startup software company. He later worked for a Fortune 100 credit-card company, where he held a mid-level management role in technology.

That experience gave him firsthand insight into large institutions, bureaucracy, risk management, consumer-credit systems, internal processes, and the way complex organizations make decisions. It also taught him to analyze problems carefully, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly when the stakes are high.

Mr. Ivan then attended New York University School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude and received Order of the Coif honors. He was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona in 2010.

After law school, Mr. Ivan completed a federal District Court clerkship. That experience gave him valuable insight into the judicial system and a deeper understanding of how courts evaluate disputes, legal arguments, evidence, and written advocacy.

Mr. Ivan also brings practical real-estate experience to his legal work. He obtained his Arizona real estate agent license before becoming an attorney and later obtained his Arizona real estate broker’s license. That background helps him understand property disputes not only as legal matters, but as real-world problems involving ownership, transactions, risk, money, expectations, and human decision-making.

Mr. Ivan opened Ivan & Associates, P.C. in 2010. Since beginning his practice, he has handled more than 5,000 matters. His work has required him to advise clients through stressful, high-stakes situations involving litigation, real estate, family issues, probate and estates, contracts, debt matters, and business disputes.

As his medical condition progressed, Mr. Ivan adapted his practice so that he could serve clients effectively, consistently, and at a high level. He embraced remote legal work and virtual court appearances as part of a modern, organized, and accessible law practice.

For several years, Arizona courts have permitted Mr. Ivan to appear remotely in court proceedings. That flexibility has allowed him to broaden his representation of clients across Arizona, not only in Maricopa County. It has also allowed the firm to serve clients in a way that is efficient, structured, and responsive to the realities of modern legal practice.

That adaptation reflects more than convenience. It reflects preparation, persistence, and the responsible use of technology in service of clients. Mr. Ivan’s background in technology and law positioned him to work effectively in an environment where clarity, organization, and reliable communication matter.
